We're sitting around the campfire Saturday night and a couple of us notice some very funky lights in the sky. We're talking high and seemingly close, like an upside-down flashlight shining through some mist/smoke. After about 30 seconds it just dissipates. It was curious, but since I'm crawling into a tent soon I'm not going to think on it too hard!
I guess it's a good thing I didn't freak & call 911. Turns out we were lucky enough to see this:

It was pretty cool, but not when you're sitting out in the woods, responsible for other people's children (who also saw it) and have no way to check it out without looking like a total flake, lol!
Moving on to other news....YES, I stamped! Shocking, isn't it? My box of new toys arrived Friday night after I had left (boo!), but I got some really COOL stuff to share!!!
This was really pretty fun to put together! I got a bottle of our new, GORGEOUS Shimmer Paint and just had to try it out!! I used Platinum on this card and it was SO easy to use. You can sponge it on and get full coverage, like I did around the (NEW!!) Ornament Punch. Or, I sponged off extra paint on a plastic stamp box lid and lightly Shimmered (<---lookie, a new verb, lol) the Night of Navy frame. A little of this goes a long long LONG way! As I was playing around with it, I had lovely results using a fine-tipped paintbrush for detail application. The little rhinestone in the middle was from one of our Clear Rhinestone Brads-I just popped it out of the metal mount!
I'm not sure that you can see it, but I used 3 layers of the Ornament Punch and folded them in half to get some dimension. I ran the middle ornament layer through my Big Shot using the same Petals-A-Plenty folder that I used on the white background. It gives the 3-D look a little more "ooomph".
