Aaaah, it's been over a week - and a busy week it has been in our house. Busy in a good way-I look forward to welcoming the kids home for summer break soon, but there always seems to be so much happening at the end of the school year.

I promised you a few more projects with our Urban Oasis DSP, and though it took a little longer than I had planned, I'm really pleased with them! You know how you'll be going along and all of a sudden you hit a project that totally stumps you? I was so there. The little purse drove me crazy for days, lol. I actually made it for myself - keep reading and you'll find out what I'm doing with it!

This is a very basic card featuring our Heard from the Heart stamp set. It's a layout I really enjoy using since it keeps much of the focus on some gorgeous DSP. I used a retired piece of hardware and tied some beaYOOtiful Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon to it. You have got to see this ribbon to appreciate it-it is so soft and luxurious! Just remember - Kiwi Kiss is a current In Color that will be retired at the end of June.

I know my darling hubby checks in here-he doesn't say much, but he gives me that "strong, silent" support. Well, that is until he busts on me for grabbing his birthday card back to post here, lol! His card uses our Oval All stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalog (LOVE this set!) plus a little Baja Breeze Double Stitched Grosgrain & Vintage Brads. I actually embossed the greeting on a scrap piece of Urban Oasis-the pattern on that piece lended itself beautifully as a neutral.

This card started out as my attempt at a limited layers card - needless to say, I failed.
Must...add...mats...to...layers...
Yeah, I gotta work on my "clean & simple" approach, lol. The greeting was stamped in Baja Breeze and the background image is in Kiwi Kiss that has been stamped off once. Both images are from the Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set. Finally, I added a Baja Breeze felt flower from Flower Fusion Too and a Kiwi Kiss Corduroy Brad (I'm getting better at not hoarding all the "cute" stuff!).

Now to my itty bitty purse-it's just too stinkin' cute! I used a template from the Stampin' Up! patterns library that we, as Demonstrators, have access to. I stared at the little box for
ages before I could figure out what I was going to do with it. Then, my little baggie of Urban Oasis scraps caught my eye. Perfect! I used strips of different scrap pieces to decorate the entire box. I just scribbled a little Tombow Mono Multi on the box and then burnished the DSP onto it.

Honestly, I had no "oozing" - you really don't need to use much, that's the beauty of the Mono Multi! I added a little Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain to the cardstock "handle", some Vintage Brads to secure the handle and a Filigree Brad as the front clasp. Cuteness!!
I mentioned that this is for moi, right? It will hold my Sizzix Embosslits in stylish comfort...well, that is until I outgrow it!
;-)

That, in and of itself, makes me tremendously proud. However, he has maintained the required GPA while carrying a full courseload of High Achievement classes. He is really an amazing young man and I thank God for entrusting him to DH and me.
